The Margaret River region is a natural playground and part of Australia's only internationally recognised biodiversity hotspot. Visit during the month of October and explore the natural beauty of 138 kilometres of sparkling coastline, towering forests, ancient caves and, of course, extraordinary wildflowers! There will also be night frogging expeditions, local produce markets, eco tours plus other exhibits and entertainment. An official program will be released later in the year so stay tuned and Flourish in Margaret River this October, 2012!

Wildflowers

The South West hot spot boasts more than 150 orchid species and some 2,500 wildflower species alone. The region is renowned for rare orchids and stunning wildflowers which attract botanical enthusiasts from around the world. Experience these floral wonders on a fascinating guided wildflower tour which take place during Flourish around some of the most impressive caves in Australia.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity is the mix of all living things - the plants, animals and micro organisms which make up the area in which we live. Biodiversity hotspots are the richest, but often most threatened, places on earth. There are 34 identified hotspots in the world. The South West hotspot, in which Margaret River lies, is the only internationally identified hotspot in Australia.
